Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. This tunnel is a narrow channel in the wrist, so that even minor swelling can cause pressure in the nerve. The median nerve in the wrist supplies movement and feeling to parts of the hand.CTS symptoms can include pain, tingling, numbness, and weakness in the hand and fingers.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is often due to repetitive stress activities such as typing, the use of tools, racquet sports, playing musical instruments, driving and assembly line work.
