My name is Donna, I am 63 years old and have used Laser Health Solutions twice now.

On August 11, 2015, I had a total knee replacement on my left side. I was referred to Laser Health Solutions by my son who had had shoulder surgery and had gone there and had great success. So three weeks after my surgery I started going for treatment. I went twice a week for 6 weeks. I had laser therapy and a lot of massage therapy. The pain was mostly in my thigh and in my calf and Blaine gave me several exercises to help with the therapy and I did a full recovery and returned to work full-time on October 3, 2015.

On July 20, 2016, I had a total knee replacement on my right side. This recovery has been very different, the pain again has been in the thigh and the calf but also a lot of pain that comes and goes in the outer knee. Sleeping has been difficult, I cannot lay for long periods of time on my right side. Sleeping on my back is very difficult as I have always been a side sleeper. So I was sleeping most of the time in my recliner. Since my treatment has started I have slowly been able to start sleeping in my bed for short periods of time. Blaine gave me pelvic exercise, this time, to help to keep my pelvis in line. I do this exercise every morning before I get out of bed, and when I go to bed a night. When I wake up during the night I now do these exercises and go for a short walk around our condo and can go back to bed and sleep. Sleeping in bed is becoming easier and even if I have a bad night I know it is only a night not permanent.

I have also been doing an exercise that helps my brain remember where and what my muscles are supposed to do. I lift my leg from the knee down straight up with my foot straight up slowly and hold it straight for 2-3 seconds and then slowly lower my leg and repeat 3-5 times, I also do it with my foot turned in and out to make the muscles on the inner thigh and outer thigh to do what they are supposed to. I also do it lifting my leg up towards my back with my foot in all three positions as well. It has been helping as the muscle pain is less each week.

I am 8 weeks post op and I am at about 90%. My recovery has been a little slower this time as between surgery’s my pain was double what it was, my new knee was amazing and pain-free, but my right knee caused a lot of problems and sleep was down to 2-3 hrs a night and I was exhausted before the surgery. I am now feeling so much better and am looking forward to a pain-free life, thanks to the help I received from Laser Health Solutions. I have referred many people to them and will continue to do so.
