About the Clinic & Therapy

1px.png

The Calgary clinic opened in 2004 and has successfully treated thousands of people for conditions such as tendonitis, sciatica, cervical and shoulder injuries, tennis elbow, low back pain, TMJ syndrome, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries and arthritis. Treatments are a combination of laser therapy and manual therapy.

Laser therapy is proven to help reduce or eliminate inflammation. Light photons are deeply absorbed by soft tissue, stimulating physiological effects necessary to healing. It is a painless, noninvasive therapy which can help restore normal cell function and enhance the body’s healing processes.

The manual work provided by the therapists includes Manual Osteopathic Therapy, Somatics, Onsen® Therapy and Massage Therapy Techniques. These are used to assess and correct structural and functional imbalances. Improved musculoskeletal balance means the reduction or elimination of pain, an increased range of motion and the release of entrapped nerves or trigger points.

The cost is $131+GST per visit. An assessment is included in the first visit at no extra charge and each visit takes just under an hour. You are one-on-one with the therapist the whole time. You won't just be receiving laser therapy. Laser therapy is an important part of the treatment because of its ability to reduce or eliminate inflammation and speed up the healing process. The manual therapy is just as important because these techniques deal with the structural and muscular reasons why the pain and inflammation started. Laser Health Solutions has developed a unique therapy program using Osteopathic techniques, Laser Therapy, Somatics, and Massage Therapy that you won't find anywhere else. On average, only ten treatments are needed.

If you have insurance benefits which allow you to see a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), you can claim reimbursement for Laser Health Solutions treatments when you see one of our RMTs. If you have any of the following insurance and are able to see a Manual Osteopathic Therapist (DMO), you are able to claim reimbursement when treated by one of our osteopaths: Blue Cross, Desjardins, Empire Life, Equitable Life, Great West Life, Canada Life, Greenshield, Manulife or Sunlife.

Thoracic muscle inflammation

Chantal D.

“I developed a mysterious pain in my mid-back in the early spring.I can't remember how I may have gotten this problem, but oh boy did it hurt!It was nagging me for about three months before I found out about LaserHealth® Solutions. The pain would start in the center of my back just below the shoulder blade, and would radiate out to the right side the more active I remained.I love to hike, and this problem was not allowing me to enjoy my favorite pass time.At times it would be so bad that I would need to sit down for up to a half-hour after only 60 minutes of walking in the mall.I was told that I may need… View the whole post

Chronic Neck Pain

In May 23, I went on holiday to Cuba. Towards the end of my holiday I developed a gastrointestinal virus. When I returned home, I started to get symptoms of a sore throat, hoarse voice, stiff muscles from the waist up, tingling in my arms and worst of all, my facial muscles, scalp , throat and neck spasmed and became tighter and tighter.

I have tried every therapy you could imagine and had MRIs, CAT scans, and the whole nine yards. On a scale of 1 to 10, my pain was a 13 for almost 16 months and I was bed ridden most of the time.

I am still recovering after 3 years very slowly so I decided to try the Laser Therapy on the muscles that… View the whole post

Severe Foot Pain From Plantar Fasciitis

I had severe foot pain mainly on the heel area. I was not able to walk any more without severe pain. After the first treatment I noticed that same day immediate relief, approximately 50% of the pain was gone.

The second treatment was only about 25% recovery, and seems to go backwards from the first treatment. The third treatment brought back the original 50% less pain and on my fourth treatment, I had 80% less pain than when I started the treatment.

I will be starting on my shoulder next time, hoping some relief.

Sciatica

After suffering sciatica for 9 months in my left buttock, I tried to have this pain relieved. My first step was medication from the doctor who said there was no cure for this problem. He suggested I take Tylenol. I tried acupuncture (no luck), massage therapy and physiotherapy. Finally after severe, unbearable pain the doctor gave me Gabapentin medication (pills) and these helped, but put me to sleep. My husband heard about LaserHealth® Solutions on the radio and with some doubt I went for the laser because I couldn't stand the pain anymore. After 3 sessions I did feel a difference. Now I have had 11 sessions and it's wonderful to be able to have… View the whole post

Osteoarthritis of the Knee

I feel I tried everything else - tried prescription drugs, cortisone shots. Certainly, I didn't want to wait and be in pain for 1 years to have a knee replacement done. I thought I'd better look for something. I'm a senior, but I don't have to walk like a senior.

I was skeptical to try Laser Therapy, but I needed something that would help my condition. After the 4th treatment, I noticed a major improvement. I didn't need to crawl to get out of my car. And at night I can sleep better now!!!

And if this is the answer for my arthritic pain, I'LL KEEP COMING BACK for Laser treatment.

Osteoarthritis of the Knee

“In January 2006, I fell and injured my left knee. It didn't hurt at first, then several months later, it was very painful.

I went to my family doctor who arranged for me to have x-rays and then therapy.

I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. After about 15 treatments of physiotherapy, I still had pain going down the stairs.

I decided to try laser treatments and after five treatments my knee felt much better. I can now go up and down the stairs with no pain.

I have been very pleased with the results.

Thanks Doctor Rob and everyone at LaserHealth® Solutions!”

Back Pain From a Herniated Disc

Steve W.
Steve W.

“In the summer of 2004, I herniated my L5 disc and an MRI showed it was medium to heavy. Back specialist mentioned surgery would be needed in time, however physiotherapy may be able to put off the surgery for some time.

After having little success with physiotherapy, I tried Laser Therapy hearing about it on the radio. The pain lessened and after some time I could live a normal life again.

In 2006, I moved from Ontario to BC and re-injured my back. Not being able to work was not an option so I looked on-line and found LaserHealth® Solutions' office.

After 10 sessions, I could live almost a normal life again and work full time.

For acute pains, the Laser Therapy definitely works.”

Bunion and Arthritis

I was running down the hall in my office and planted and turned on my right foot. I heard a pop and then there was a lot of pain in my big toe joint. A couple of days later there was quite a bit of swelling. I figured that it would go away on it's own so I didn't do anything about it. After that, my toe always felt a little different and my foot was uncomfortable in my shoe. Prior to coming to LaserHealth® Solutions, my toe was becoming more immobile. Running, golfing and some of the shoes that I wore also made it ache and it would keep me awake at night. I went to my doctor and had it x-rayed. The doctor said that it was a bunion… View the whole post

Rotator Cuff Tear

“I've been suffering moderate to severe pain in my left shoulder for over a year, brought on by weight lifting and tennis. I've tried physiotherapy with some success, but the pain remained and mobility was never completely restored. After 4 visits at the LaserHealth® Solutions Corp., I've made more gains than I have with any other treatment in this last year, and I'm immensely relieved to gain back what I thought was lost mobility. At this rate, I should be back to full mobility and no pain in less than 3 weeks.”

Chronic Ankle Sprain

Ruth B.

“I sprained my ankle, and for three months, it hurt on and off but never felt completely better. After 4-5 treatments with LASER, the pain was gone and my ankle started to feel stronger again. I was able to resume my active lifestyle without wondering if it would hurt after the activity.

I have already recommended LASER treatment to others and particularly like the fact that it is non-invasive.

Staff was great, offering suggestions and support.”
