About the Clinic & Therapy

1px.png

The Calgary clinic opened in 2004 and has successfully treated thousands of people for conditions such as tendonitis, sciatica, cervical and shoulder injuries, tennis elbow, low back pain, TMJ syndrome, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries and arthritis. Treatments are a combination of laser therapy and manual therapy.

Laser therapy is proven to help reduce or eliminate inflammation. Light photons are deeply absorbed by soft tissue, stimulating physiological effects necessary to healing. It is a painless, noninvasive therapy which can help restore normal cell function and enhance the body’s healing processes.

The manual work provided by the therapists includes Manual Osteopathic Therapy, Somatics, Onsen® Therapy and Massage Therapy Techniques. These are used to assess and correct structural and functional imbalances. Improved musculoskeletal balance means the reduction or elimination of pain, an increased range of motion and the release of entrapped nerves or trigger points.

The cost is $131+GST per visit. An assessment is included in the first visit at no extra charge and each visit takes just under an hour. You are one-on-one with the therapist the whole time. You won't just be receiving laser therapy. Laser therapy is an important part of the treatment because of its ability to reduce or eliminate inflammation and speed up the healing process. The manual therapy is just as important because these techniques deal with the structural and muscular reasons why the pain and inflammation started. Laser Health Solutions has developed a unique therapy program using Osteopathic techniques, Laser Therapy, Somatics, and Massage Therapy that you won't find anywhere else. On average, only ten treatments are needed.

If you have insurance benefits which allow you to see a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), you can claim reimbursement for Laser Health Solutions treatments when you see one of our RMTs. If you have any of the following insurance and are able to see a Manual Osteopathic Therapist (DMO), you are able to claim reimbursement when treated by one of our osteopaths: Blue Cross, Desjardins, Empire Life, Equitable Life, Great West Life, Canada Life, Greenshield, Manulife or Sunlife.

Hip and Back Pain

When I first came to the LaserHealth® clinic I could barely walk and couldn't stand up straight.

After ten treatments I am up and about, able to shop and back and wrap Christmas presents for my grand children.

I am feeling really good and I am starting back in my exercise class in January.

Low Back Pain From Parachuting Accident

Harry E.
Harry E.

“I originally hurt my back in a parachuting mishap in the military back in 1949. All our activity required us to be loaded up with equipment.I had a shovel strapped across the small of my back just above my belt.Falling a little to fast, I had to do a rear roll on landing to smooth out my fall. That was when the shovel jammed into my low back.It laid me out so badly a couple of my buddies had to get me up and carry my equipment as we moved out.I managed to see my MO (Medical Officer) where he said I was fine.Suffering with pain over many months I eventually ended up in hospital for back surgery… View the whole post

Tendon - Partial Tear of Quadricep Tendon

Stig T.

“I had been dealing with a quadriceps insert partial tear on my left knee for about 5 months. The injury was caused by a rough landing on my left leg while paragliding. My therapies before were ice, NSAID's, rest and heat. I even tried prolotherapy, with slow progress. Over my recovery period, my biggest pain was when sitting down with a bent knee. I was also missing out on my Tae Kwon Do training. I found that after starting Laser Therapy, I noticed big changes after about 3 sessions. I was feeling less pain and able to apply more force on my knee after one week of Laser Therapy than with the previous 5 months of conventional treatment! I will be using Laser Therapy for my treatment when it makes sense in the future!”

Plantar Fasciitis in My Left Foot

I came with plantar fasciitis which would make my left foot ache for no particular reason at all. If I rested it, it would start aching. If I went for a walk, it would ache. It would ache for no particular rhyme or reason. After 12 treatments this has considerably improved. With the exercises given to me, I am hoping to be completely free of the sore feet.

Tendonitis - Biceps | Deltoids

I am a 41 year old computer programmer and athlete who has had a shoulder problem for about five years. The pain was progressively getting worse with repetitive use.I had physiotherapy on my shoulder, and went to the chiropractor for it.Physio and Chiropractic treatment gave me temporary relief.Eventually the pain in my shoulder was intolerable. I would get stabbing pain in the front part of my shoulder, and severe aching in my shoulder when I used my keyboard or mouse at work. When I was playing volleyball, overhand serving and spiking became impossible.Other activities like yoga and weights were also irritating my… View the whole post

Tendonitis - Ankle

Before coming to LaserHealth® Solutions I could barely walk. The only time I would get out and walk was to get my groceries. I would also get a lot of pain at night which would keep me up and make it hard to get a good night sleep.

I decided to try Laser Therapy and I am glad that I did. I started to notice the improvement sooner than expected around my 3rd or 4th treatment. Before I couldn't even turn or rotate my ankle but now I can. I am now walking and sleeping much better as my ankle feels about 90% better overall. I am very thankful for how the therapy has improved my ankle and I am now having treatment for my knee.

Sciatica

Dave

“I had very bad sciatic pain for about nine months. It went away for about 2 months but then came back as bad as ever. I came for laser treatments about a month ago and have now had 10 treatments. There was some progress for the first two weeks, but since the fifth treatment, my progress has been very good. Combined with stretching exercises my pain has almost completely disappeared in the last two weeks. I am now confident that I will be fully cured very soon.”

Hand Pain

It was amazing how effective the laser treatment was, as evident by the reduction in swelling and almost complete elimination of pain following the very first session. It was nothing but onwards and upwards in improvement thereafter. I am sold on the technology and its non-invasiveness!

Shoulder Pain

Back in March 28, I started experiencing pain in my right shoulder. I have no idea what had triggered or caused it. It was a mystery. My family doctor only gave me pain killers. I got an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon who thought it was rotator cuff inflammation. He gave me 2 cortisone shots that had no effect. He scheduled me for an MRI which is not until March 29. I got tired of taking pain killers for 9 months. After 3 treatments at LaserHealth® Solutions, I stopped taking pain killers. I just hope that these treatments will give me some respite for sure in the short term and hopefully in the long term.
