About the Clinic & Therapy

1px.png

The Calgary clinic opened in 2004 and has successfully treated thousands of people for conditions such as tendonitis, sciatica, cervical and shoulder injuries, tennis elbow, low back pain, TMJ syndrome, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries and arthritis. Treatments are a combination of laser therapy and manual therapy.

Laser therapy is proven to help reduce or eliminate inflammation. Light photons are deeply absorbed by soft tissue, stimulating physiological effects necessary to healing. It is a painless, noninvasive therapy which can help restore normal cell function and enhance the body’s healing processes.

The manual work provided by the therapists includes Manual Osteopathic Therapy, Somatics, Onsen® Therapy and Massage Therapy Techniques. These are used to assess and correct structural and functional imbalances. Improved musculoskeletal balance means the reduction or elimination of pain, an increased range of motion and the release of entrapped nerves or trigger points.

The cost is $131+GST per visit. An assessment is included in the first visit at no extra charge and each visit takes just under an hour. You are one-on-one with the therapist the whole time. You won't just be receiving laser therapy. Laser therapy is an important part of the treatment because of its ability to reduce or eliminate inflammation and speed up the healing process. The manual therapy is just as important because these techniques deal with the structural and muscular reasons why the pain and inflammation started. Laser Health Solutions has developed a unique therapy program using Osteopathic techniques, Laser Therapy, Somatics, and Massage Therapy that you won't find anywhere else. On average, only ten treatments are needed.

If you have insurance benefits which allow you to see a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), you can claim reimbursement for Laser Health Solutions treatments when you see one of our RMTs. If you have any of the following insurance and are able to see a Manual Osteopathic Therapist (DMO), you are able to claim reimbursement when treated by one of our osteopaths: Blue Cross, Desjardins, Empire Life, Equitable Life, Great West Life, Canada Life, Greenshield, Manulife or Sunlife.

Tennis Elbow in both elbows

Robbin K.
Robbin K.

“Here is my story...

I had a fall in November 1997 in which I injured my dominant wrist (right). There were no broken bones but the ligaments were torn.I had no choice but to use my left hand for as much as possible.

After a while I became quite proficient being a lefty and although my wrist was healing well, I was very protective of it. By mid 1998 I noticed that my left elbow was beginning to ache by the end of each day. It continued to get worse and I began to force myself to be right hand dominant again. It wasn't long before the right elbow began to hurt as well.

I was unable to lift even small amounts of… View the whole post

Rotator Cuff Injury

On Christmas Day 2004 I was preparing our house for dinner guest when I was unwinding a cord with my right arm and my shoulder went crack & pop. During the next couple of days I noticed that I was having problems moving myright arm and I could not lift things without being in extreme pain. I mentioned the problem I was having to Dr. Rob and my dread of having to go to physio.

Dr Rob explained about Laser Therapy to me and showed me some of the testimonials that he had. I decided to try it as it seemed to me, better than going to physio and taking muscle relaxants. After two treatments my shoulder start to feel better. After 5 sessions… View the whole post

Rotator Cuff Injury - Acute

Norm injured his shoulder in a fall. The injury resulted in limited movement and pain. In just two treatments the patient reported pain-free full range movement.

Osteoarthritis in the knees

When I started coming, I could hardly walk around my kitchen for pain. After the first treatment, the pain had settled down some. By the third and fourth treatment, I had more movement of my knee. With each treatment things got better. Then about the eighth treatment, I decided to see how far I could walk. It turned out to be about 1 blocks. I was tired but there was very little pain. Laser has helped me control the pain and gave me more movement in my knee.

Shoulder Tendonitis

I've been living with right shoulder tendonitis compounded by a calcium deposit off and on for several years. Active Release Massage Therapy had helped, but I was going through a period of several months of constant low level pain. I heard about Laser Therapy and after speaking to Blaine and Suzanne, decided to give it a try. Result? The constant pain is gone. My shoulder occasionally reminds me that the calcium deposit is still there, and I know I can't overexert the shoulder, but I can now sleep through the night, and am virtually free from pain or inflammation reducing drugs.

Deteriorating Disc From a Neck Injury

My problem started with a neck injury years ago and has been slowly getting worse to the point where my right shoulder and arm ached and my two smaller fingers were tingling (like when you wake up and have been sleeping on them). Constant headaches in the back of my head also plagued me.
When I heard about LaserHealth® Solutions, I contacted them with a hope of getting relief, as my x-rays showed a deteriorating C-5 disc and the risky operation could leave me paralyzed.

Although Blaine indicated it would take several treatments to help me, after the first treatment I felt the tension in my neck subside to the point… View the whole post

“In late December 2004, I developed a pain in my right shoulder. The pain was so severe at night, it interrupted my sleep.I told Dr. Rob and he immediately suggested I try Laser Therapy.I felt an improvement after my first visit. After 3 more visits my shoulder was 90% better.”

Back Pain - Chronic

I am a care aid and I got hurt at work. I had a lower back disc problem (L5-S1 disc level). I have seen so many specialists, but no one could help my pain. My pain level started to increase day by day. I have had acupressure therapy, acupuncture therapy, massage therapy and I also took a lot of different pain killers, but nothing worked on me. I was crying from the pain that I was suffering from for more than 2 years. I could not sit down for such a long time, I could not stand for long either, and I couldn't lie down and have a good night sleep because of my back pain. Finally, my friend told me all about Dr. YY. I decided to go and see… View the whole post

Dermal Ulcer - Severe

Bob suffered for eight years with a dermal ulcer on his foot that only progressively got worse. Routine antibiotics were perscribed to treat the area but no healing took place. In just a brief period of time the ulcer has been reduced 90% and Bob no longer needs to have major surgery to correct the issue.

A Weight Lifter Dealing With Tennis Elbow

My name is Jenn and I came to see Blaine in late October when the pain in my right elbow was so severe that I would cringe before I would shake someone's hand because I knew that it would be painful. My job as a right-handed high school PE instructor was also being challenged as I was unable to demonstrate even the most simple of badminton skills. My hobby is weight lifting and I am a competitive bodybuilder. My tennis elbow brought a halt to my upper body workouts as I could not grasp a dumbbell or barbell. I had tried ice and anti-inflammatories, chiropractic care and massage but none of these were giving me the… View the whole post
