About the Clinic & Therapy

1px.png

The Calgary clinic opened in 2004 and has successfully treated thousands of people for conditions such as tendonitis, sciatica, cervical and shoulder injuries, tennis elbow, low back pain, TMJ syndrome, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries and arthritis. Treatments are a combination of laser therapy and manual therapy.

Laser therapy is proven to help reduce or eliminate inflammation. Light photons are deeply absorbed by soft tissue, stimulating physiological effects necessary to healing. It is a painless, noninvasive therapy which can help restore normal cell function and enhance the body’s healing processes.

The manual work provided by the therapists includes Manual Osteopathic Therapy, Somatics, Onsen® Therapy and Massage Therapy Techniques. These are used to assess and correct structural and functional imbalances. Improved musculoskeletal balance means the reduction or elimination of pain, an increased range of motion and the release of entrapped nerves or trigger points.

The cost is $131+GST per visit. An assessment is included in the first visit at no extra charge and each visit takes just under an hour. You are one-on-one with the therapist the whole time. You won't just be receiving laser therapy. Laser therapy is an important part of the treatment because of its ability to reduce or eliminate inflammation and speed up the healing process. The manual therapy is just as important because these techniques deal with the structural and muscular reasons why the pain and inflammation started. Laser Health Solutions has developed a unique therapy program using Osteopathic techniques, Laser Therapy, Somatics, and Massage Therapy that you won't find anywhere else. On average, only ten treatments are needed.

If you have insurance benefits which allow you to see a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), you can claim reimbursement for Laser Health Solutions treatments when you see one of our RMTs. If you have any of the following insurance and are able to see a Manual Osteopathic Therapist (DMO), you are able to claim reimbursement when treated by one of our osteopaths: Blue Cross, Desjardins, Empire Life, Equitable Life, Great West Life, Canada Life, Greenshield, Manulife or Sunlife.

Correcting Plantar Fasciitis Without Orthotics

In January 25 I suffered from extreme foot pain in both feet. I went to the doctor and he told me that I had plantar fasciitis. He gave me a prescription for orthotics and got them for about $35.. With ibuprofen and use of the orthotic the pain went away. In December 25 it came back worse than ever, I could no longer be on my feet for more than an hour and a half without needing to sit down and ice my feet if I could. I saw the LaserHealth® Solutions article in the newspaper, and knew it was something that I had to try. On the day of the consultation I expected to go home and wait for the appointment day to… View the whole post

Knee Pain (Osteoarthritis)

I've tried a lot of things over the years for the arthritis in my knees and was told that knee replacement was my last hope. I'm glad I heard about LaserHealth® Solutions before I did that! The first time I came to the clinic was March 25. I was using 2 crutches and finding it very difficult to walk. Blaine recommended 10 treatments on each knee. Over the period of those treatments, my recovery gradually increased. By the last day, the pain was almost completely gone and I didn't need my crutches any more.
It's been over a year now and I came back for a tune-up on my right knee. The left knee is still fine. After just 7 treatments… View the whole post

Knee Pain

About 2 years ago, both of my knees started to hurt. It was most likely due to arthritis. I heard about Laser Therapy on the radio and decided to try it. I had 5 treatments on one knee and 4 on the other and there is an 80% improvement. I'm so happy with the results that I also started getting treatments for Achilles tendonitis.

Knee Pain (Arthritis and Injury)

Knee injury from aerobics and arthritis developing post injury.
I noticed an improvement after the second treatment, which has continued through ten treatments. I am now virtually pain-free and am at the point where I am resuming walking again. I highly recommend this therapy program.

Shoulder

I have been a patient of LaserHealth® Solutions for 20 treatments to date, starting treatments in March 26. I incurred a serious shoulder injury in March 24 working with weights in a gym. A couple months later I tried a series of physio treatments. In the summer of 24, I then tried 12 acupuncture treatments. Prescription anti-inflammatory drugs followed this in the spring of 25, followed by 2 cortisone shots in the fall of 25. Throughout this period I had bi-weekly massage therapy.

I entered Laser treatment at about 50% functionality and after the 20th treatment I am at 90%. Some days I am close to 100%. I am now golfing again after missing the… View the whole post

Nurse With Plantar Fasciitis

Diagnosed on x-ray, Jan. 26 and had a cortisones injection done by my family doctor, initially with minimal improvement, then became more painful to the point that I could not weight bear and was walking on my toes only. My sister told me how much laser had helped her plantar fasciitis and gave me the web site. Started seeing Dr. Lee in May and improvement began after the first treatment. It has steadily improved with each treatment. After 8 treatments, I am 100% better, walk without a limp and have resumed my exercise program. I no longer have a constant dull ache in my foot!! I am a Registered Nurse and am on my feet… View the whole post

Ankle Sprain

I play university level hockey which involves an extensive summer training schedule. One day I fell and suffered from a sprained ankle. I complained to my mom that I could not afford to wait 4-6 weeks for my ankle to heal so I could get back to training. She recommended I try laser treatments. I noticed a huge difference after the first few treatments and I was able to get back into training after just two weeks.

Thank you to Dr. Rob and the laser team for helping me to get back into my routine a lot sooner than anticipated!

Acute Low Back Pain

I have been battling low back problems since early 20's with my first of many back injuries at work. For many years I tried just doing as our physiotherapists at work were having me do to strengthen my back. Then I found chiropractic which was doing more than the entire physio that I had attended over the years.

Then on Saturday, June 3, all I did was stand up. When I did so I felt a cramp and heard a pop in my low back. The pain was excruciating. It took everything I had to get myself up into an almost straight standing position. I did my night shift praying for the pain to ease. When I tried to get up on Sunday after a short nap I… View the whole post

Knee pain (osteoarthritis)

I've been suffering on and off with arthritis in my right knee for years. It got to the point that I had to stop lawn bowling because of the knee pain. A friend heard about Laser Therapy on the radio and she gave it a try. It worked wonders for her so she told me about it. I started my first treatment on May 18, 26 and after about the fourth treatment I started to notice a difference. I have had 10 treatments and now I'm back with my walking group and we are doing hills. I find walking up stairs easier, I sleep better and I'm able to get out of a reclined chair. People are noticing the difference and that reassures me that Laser… View the whole post

Neck and Shoulder pain

I have experienced neck/shoulder pain for 25 years. I have tried a lot of therapy for my pain with some success, but it was usually temporary. Dr. Rob didn't guarantee success, but felt I could make progress in removing the pain. After 5 weeks of therapy the pain is 95% gone. It's been a long time since I have been without neck/shoulder pain. Consequently I sleep better and feel better all through the day. I think this therapy is amazing and have recommended it to my running friends.
